My teeth are a bit crooked. I don’t really want to spend a lot of money to have a mouth full of painful metal to straighten them for the next few years. Someone told me you can snap a dental flipper over your teeth and they’ll look straight. You can even get them made whiter than your regular teeth so they look better too. Is this true or is my friend confused?

What your friend is probably thinking about is a snap-on smile. A Dental flipper (pictured here) is a temporary tooth replacement. These are used when you are waiting on a more permanent tooth replacement, like a dental implant.
A snap-on smile can snap over your teeth and make them look straight. However, they have some limitations you need to be aware of.
