Meet the Team – Lafayette

 

Carly – Registered Dental Hygienist

Carly grew up with an aunt and cousin in the dental industry. Her respect for both of them is what drew her to become a hygienist. She loves the relationships she builds with clients whose teeth she’s been cleaning for years.

Carly loves running. Her heroes are Chrissie Wellington and Scott Jurek. She has a husband and a son and could live on the Ferdie’s Special at the Pizza Shack in Opelousas.

-In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… the First Lady.
-If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d… travel to New Zealand.
-If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve… sand, sun, fun, and no schedule!

 

Keisha – Registered Dental Hygienist

Keisha completed her bachelor’s degree in basic sciences from LSU and her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from LSUSD. She has been with our team for more than 14 years and works diligently each day to create the best possible experience for our patients. She loves the teamwork at our office.

Keisha and her husband, Stuart, have two children, Bennett and Kate. She enjoys spending time camping and fishing with her family, as well as running.

 

Melana – Registered Dental Hygienist

Melana is a graduate of Southern University. She joined our team in 2016 and enjoys the teamwork at our office. Growing up, she was embarrassed by her smile and loves that she gets to help people improve theirs.

Outside of the office, Melana loves the food and music in the area. She also loves to exercise and spend time with her family. She has two boys, one a teenager and one an adult out in the world.

 

Rikki – Registered Dental Hygienist

Rikki has been with our team for over five years. She is a team player and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Her favorite thing about our office is her amazing coworkers!

Rikki and her husband have one son. Outside of the office she enjoys working out and spending time with her family.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a talk show host… and a great one!
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is… be yourself.
My favorite comfort food is… cheeseburger with lots of bacon.

Airelle – Registered Dental Hygienist

Airelle received her bachelor of science in dental hygiene at LSU school of dentistry. She’s worked for Dr. Theriot since 2020. One thing she finds remarkably satisfying about her job is helping patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. Airelle and her husband were married in 2020. In 2021 they had their wonderful daughter, Joelle. They also have a golden doodle named Leroy.

When Airelle isn’t at the office, she loves to hang out with family and friends.

 

Mandy – Dental Assistant

Mandy joined our team in July 2017. She works with children to show them at an early age how important oral hygiene is and loves being able to help children when they feel nervous.

Cats or dogs? Dogs.
My favorite comfort food is… chocolate or cookies.
If I were a superhero, my superpower would be… shapeshifting.

 

Leah – Dental Assistant

Leah has been with our team for over nine years. She loves her coworkers and helps keeps our office running smoothly by ensuring we have all the materials and supplies we need.

Leah enjoys traveling with her family, reading a good story, cooking, and baking.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… part of the Royal Family.
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d… remodel my entire house!
If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why? Bowtie because of the hourglass figure.

 

Alyssa – Dental Assistant

Alyssa has been with our team since 2017 and is the main assistant for Dr. Daigle. She enjoys making our patients happier with their smiles. They have a great team which makes coming to work a joy.

Alyssa is very close to her family and loves spending time with her husband, Blake, and their calico cat, Rosie. When Alyssa isn’t working, she loves working out, reading, and binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix.

Cats or dogs? Both! Can’t pick just one.
My favorite comfort food is… spaghetti.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d grow up to be… a veterinarian.

 

Paige – Dental Assistant

Paige has been with our team for 5 years. She loves working with children to give them a good dental experience and appreciates how well everyone in our office works together. Paige brings a positive attitude with her each day.

Paige and her fiancé have one son, and Paige loves making new memories with her family whenever she is not in the office.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d… move to the Bahamas.
My favorite word in the English language is… bedtime!
The most important thing I learned before high school was… change is okay.

Ashlyn

Ashlyn – Dental Assistant

Dentistry has always been a passion of Ashlyn’s since she was a child. “The satisfaction of restoring a patient’s faith in dentistry
and thriving to give everyone optimal care is a huge part of why I love this field,” Ashlyn said.
When she’s not caring for our patients, Ashlyn stays very busy with her two daughters who are nine years apart in age.

 

Alexis – Office Manager

Alexis is an EDDA-certified dental assistant and has been with our team since 2009. A family member told her about an opening in our office, and she submitted her resume and began working as a dental assistant in our office that same day. She felt right at home from her first day with us and enjoys that our team has grown into a big family over the years, making it so wonderful to work here. Alexis married her high school sweetheart, with whom she has two daughters, ages 7 and 4. In her spare time, she enjoys getting together with friends and family and watching sports events.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a Broadway star.
My favorite word in the English language is… supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be this when I grew up… a professional gymnast.

 

Inger – Patient Care Coordinator

Inger has been with our team for 11 ½ years. She enjoys being part of a team that works together so well and works hard each day to be the best she can be at her job.

Inger has a wonderful husband, Darren, and an awesome 17-year-old daughter, Madison. Outside of the office, she enjoys gardening and bargain shopping.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a throwback from an earlier time.
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d… donate some, but I’d still watch how I spent my money.
My favorite word in the English language is… optimism.

 

Sonya – Office Administration

Sonya joined us from Gonsoulin Dentistry. After 17 years in a smaller practice, she transitioned easily into our practice. She earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration at UL. She answers patient’s questions and helps them manage their dental care. Sonya’s favorite thing about the practice is the feeling of family from both our patients and other staff members.

Sonya loves interior design and staycations at home with her family.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a butterfly or a panther.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is… Be patient and kind.
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve… champagne.

 

Rachel – Office Administration & Tech

Rachel joined Theriot Family Dental Care in 2017, bringing with her six years of experience from her time at Gonsoulin Dentistry. She loves that we are a large, fast-paced office that still maintains a mom and pop feel where you are not a number but a friend.
When Rachel isn’t working, she enjoys anything arts and crafts, fashion, thrift shopping, along with festivals and good food.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a mermaid.
My favorite comfort food is… soup and sandwich.

 

Claire – Manager Assistant

Claire graduated from STM in 2016 and joined our team in 2018. Since then, she has completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette in health services administration. She goes above and beyond to make sure our patients are comfortable and happy as soon as they walk through the door. Claire enjoys being able to work alongside sweet and happy people while seeing them help so many patients. We’re more than coworkers, we’re family. When she’s not working,  Claire loves teaching dance and her favorite subject is dancing.

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was… a monkey at the zoo.
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve… a Christmas tree (no matter what time of the year).
If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why? A spiral noodle, because they are so cute and each can be different and hold so much flavor.

 

Tanya – Accounts & Insurance Manager

Tanya completed her degree as a certified nursing assistant in 2002 and has been with our team for 13 years. She ensures that our accounts are up-to-date and helps our patients get the most out of their insurance benefits. Tanya’s favorite part of our office is working together as a team to give our patients the best possible care.

Tanya and her husband Ryan have four children, Chloe, Brylee, Mia, and Parker.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d… plan a family getaway.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is… life is a journey, not a destination.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be this when I grew up… a baby doctor.

 

AC – Administrative Assistant

Alexis has been an administrative assistant since 2017. Originally from Hammond, LA, her family moved to Lafayette during her high school years and she’s lived here ever since. Alexis finds her career rewarding. She especially loves knowing that she is making a difference in patient’s lives, whether it be helping an anxious patient enjoy going to the dentist of seeing someone finally proud to share their smile.

Alexis attended school at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette and has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. She is close with her family and has a younger brother and sister. When she isn’t working, you can find her teaching dance at a local dance studio or doing anything outside or on the water.

 

Lori – Insurance Coordinator

Lori is currently a nursing student at Delta College of Nursing in Lafayette. She loves coming to work each day because she doesn’t just verify insurance but educates patients about their benefits and all the ways it can help them get the smile they want. When asked about working with Dr. Theriot and the team, Lori said, “We go the extra mile for our patients, in ALL departments, and that truly creates an amazing atmosphere to work in. Not only are we co-workers; we are family.”

Though Lori originally grew up just south of New Orleans, she had to relocate after Hurricane Katrina. She loves the area along with the Cajun culture. “Noone stays a stranger for long. Plus, the food in this area cannot be beat!”

Most of her free time goes to studying for nursing school and spending time with her fiancé, Dominic. Though, when she has time Lori loves to do anything outdoors or transforming items others have disposed of in order to turn them into beautiful décor pieces. One of her favorite life memories is when she was fortunate enough to tour Italy.

 

 

Camryn – Dental Assistant

Originally from Breaux Bridge, LA, Camryn settled here to work with us. She loves her job because it gives her the chance to connect with patients of all ages.

“Making our patients comfortable is such a special bond,” Camryn said. “And I get the honor of doing that on a daily basis.”

When she isn’t working, Camryn enjoys cooking for people and listening to live music.

 

Gwen – Office Administration

 

Gwen started working in dental offices in 2000. At the time, she had no dental experience and was nervous about her ability to do the job. Here she is, two decades later with a true love for dentistry. One of Gwen’s favorite parts of her job is getting to know the patients. Helping patients with their fear is her number one priority. She loves being a part of what makes them comfortable in the dental chair.

When she’s not working, Gwen loves shopping, painting, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband, Barry, have been married since 1994. They have a daughter who just graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Lele – Registered Dental Hygienist

Lele grew up in a Lao family with two hardworking parents and two older siblings. She naturally gravitated toward dentistry after growing up in an environment that didn’t have access to dental care.

As she grew up, Lele aspired to deliver dental care to those in need and obtained her dental hygiene degree in order to fulfil that goal. Now she aspires to provide quality dental care and superb service to all patients in need.

When she isn’t working, Lele loves working out, spending time with family, and watching Wheel of Fortune with her dad.

 

 

Anissa – Receptionist

Anissa grew up in the small but not-so-quiet town of Church Point, LA. She spent her formative years in competitive cheerleading and would love to revisit her days on the blue mat. Anissa has been our receptionist since 2020 and loves the opportunities for professional growth with us. Every day she gets to learn something new. When Anissa is not working, she loves to shop, work out, travel with her friends, and take care of her Pomeranian, Lulu. Annisa is known as a makeup and skincare guru. Anissa has a sister, but knows that she is the golden child of her family.

 

Paiton – Dental Assistant

Paiton has worked with us since 2019. She grew up in Youngsville. Paiton has one daughter and one dog. When she’s not working or taking care of them, her favorite thing to do is shop.

 

Blaise – Dental Assistant

Blaise is a graduate of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and has worked with us since 2019. One of four children, Blaise loves spoiling her two neices. When she isn’t working, she loves goofing off with her Husky-German Shephard mix, who acts like he’s her child, or hanging out with her best friends on the boat or watching movies. .
