Rebecca Baudin, DDS

“Helping others gives me purpose and motivates me to come to work each day.”

When Dr. Baudin was born she was quite sick. That illness turned out to be a benign tumor on her pancreas that was mass producing insulin. At just twenty days old, she had 95% of her pancreas and all of her spleen removed. Unfortunately, the next day, she was given an overdose of insulin. In fact, she was dosed 100 times more than she should have been, which almost killed her. Everyone expected there to be long-term complications and developmental delays. Fortunately, that did not happen. Because she was so fortunate she thought it was her purpose to become a doctor. This way she could help others and make the most out of being spared from any lifelong complications herself.

Growing up, she’d always had a fascination with teeth and enjoyed working with her hands. Becoming a dentist felt like the perfect fit, allowing her to blend her passions while still giving her the ability to make a positive impact on others. She especially loves being able to see when someone who hasn’t been to the dentist in a while does what they need to get their gums and teeth back to good health and continue to maintain it.

“I always always encourage patients to preserve their natural tooth structure, and emphasize the importance of saving teeth whenever possible. I try to be as conservative as possible, while giving them a great result. My hope is that they can always be confident and comfortable with their smile.”

Dr. Baudin lives in Lafayette with her partner and three children. She loves this area because of the culture. “There’s always something to do on the weekends. Plus, the food is great and the people are incredibly hospitable here.” When not working, Dr. Baudin loves to fish, play pickleball, go to car shows, and hunt for uranium while antiquing.
