Where Did Smile Direct Club Go?

Posted by writeradmin

I used to see advertisements for this at home Invisalign company called something like smile direct. I had been considering them but didn’t have a ton of money. I think I’m in a position to get them now, but I don’t see their ads on Facebook anymore. Do you know where they went?

Well, a lot has happened since SmileDirectClub was advertising. What most potential customers didn’t know about SmileDirect is that a great number of people who purchased the service had problems with it. However, the only way they could get their money back was to sign a non-disclosure agreement as well as remove any negative reviews they had already written, if any. As far as the general public was concerned, everything was great. The only reviews they really saw was that of the satisfied customers.

Everything changed in June of 2023. A D.C. court ordered them to release all patients from those agreements and forbade them from doing them any further. That order released 17.000 customers and they were able to tell others about what happened to them. When the torrent of truth happened, SmileDirect ended up filing for bankruptcy just three months later. They were unable to find a buyer and were forced to close the business down.

In an astounding lack of ethics, they sent out letters to all their customers saying that they would not be sending out any further aligners for their treatments. Even worse, they informed those patients that they were still liable for any payments owed. Nice, right? There are other companies doing similar services. The problem you are going to find is that you will have the same issues with other brands of these mail-in knock-off services. They do not give you adequate dental supervision. As a result, your aligners won’t always work. If that happens too many times, you can actually end up losing your teeth.

If you want to straighten your teeth with invisible braces, your safest and most effective option is to do it with Invisalign. Your dentist can not only ensure that your procedure goes well. Plus, they can provide you with teeth whitening gel to wear in your aligners. This will allow you to straighten and whiten your teeth at the same time.
