Sedation Dentistry Saved My Smile

Posted by writeradmin

I thought I’d post a letter of gratitude we received from a woman who is not our patient, but benefited from something she read on our blog. I’ve also posted our response.

I just wanted to send a note to say thank you. I read on your blog about someone who, like me had trouble going to the dentist. I had an infected tooth and was in a desperate amount of pain. I read your response to her and immediately looked for a dentist who offered sedation. He got me in and it was the easiest dental appointment I have ever had. Since then, I’ve been going to the dentist regularly. Now all my teeth are healthy and I’m even going to start doing extra things, like teeth whitening to get my smile pretty again. I can’t thank you enough! You’ve saved my smile.

Gratefully,
Katherine L.

Dear Katherine,

A woman asleep in a chair relaxing with dental sedation.

I’m thrilled to hear that you were able to get the help you need. Isn’t it great to know you are on top of your oral health. So many people only go to the dentist when they have a dental emergency, without realizing how dangerous tooth infections really are. I wish there was a way to get everyone to understand that people still die from tooth infections. It is awesome that everything is taken care of for you now and that you are getting to even do elective procedures, such as teeth whitening. I don’t know how old you are, but we’ve had patients tell us that this one simple procedure made them look and feel years, sometimes decades, younger.

Sincerely,
Theriot Family Dental Care

How Does Sedation Dentistry Help?

If you’re reading this and wondering about this magic spell which allowed Katherine to get the dental care she needed without having fear or anxiety, let me give you the secret sauce.

There are different levels of medication that you can get from a dentist to help you with your dental care. Some patients only need a little sedation in order to help them relax before their dental appointment. Others, prefer to nap through their appointment. No matter what your level of anxiety, having dental sedation can completely change your life, as it did for the woman who wrote to us in gratitude.
