Saving Money of Fixing Tetracycline Stains

Posted by writeradmin

I want to fix my tetracycline stains and I’ve been told that porcelain veneers are the only way to do that. They’re pretty expensive. I’m wondering if there is a way to do it less expensively. Is there like a training school for dentists that does porcelain veneers? I think they would probably be cheaper, right?

Dear Bonnie,

A porcelain veneer being held up to a tooth.

You will not want to go to a dental school for this. Dental schools are focused on mechanics of tooth repair. Even if the student had an instructor, it would likely be the first porcelain veneers case that the instructor did as well. You will not like the results that you get. I would not try to find discounted rates on most types of cosmetic dentistry. They require years of training as well as time to develop their artistry. My suggestion is that you save up to get it done right by an expert cosmetic dentist.

In the meantime, there is something you can do which will improve your smile for a fraction of the cost. They will not be porcelain veneers gorgeous, but you will like the improvement. Using bleaching trays from professional strength teeth whitening will make great improvements, IF you are persistent enough.

You’ll have to wear them for a long time, at least several months depending on who much you can tolerate each day. I would try overnight, if that is possible for you. If not, just do what you are comfortable with.

Don’t use Zoom Whitening or Laser Whitening in this case. Even though they are technically stronger, you would need to do too many treatments for them to make a difference and there goes your cost savings. Stick with the tray whitening.

In the meantime, you can save up for the porcelain veneers. The good news about whitening is that you will not need an expert. This is the simplest of all the cosmetic procedures. Any dentist can do it.
