Can We Choose How White We Get Our Teeth?

Posted by writeradmin

My husband and I are hoping to get our teeth really white. Ideally, we’d like our teeth to match the whiteness of our eyeballs. Is this type of specificity possible? We are already planning next year’s cosplaying and this would really add that extra edge to our costumes. Price is no object. Going to cons is our splurge.

Dear Betty and Steve,

Teeth Bleaching trays

That is honestly one of the most unique questions I have received in a long time. Thank you!

Some of the answer will depend on how white your teeth are. There are limits to how much you can do teeth whitening before there are problems. Early signs you are bleaching too much are irritated gums and sensitive teeth. However, if you continue even after those early signs, you risk damage to the tooth enamel itself. Additionally, it is also tricky to get an exact match for your teeth. You can get close, but even after you stop whitening, your teeth continue to change shades for a couple of weeks.

If you’re looking for an exact match to your eyeballs or they are exceedingly white, the better option than teeth whitening would be to use porcelain veneers. This can be used to match the shade exactly. Though, it does take an expert cosmetic dentist to do it well. You don’t typically put porcelain veneers on all of your teeth. That would be too expensive. You would just veneer the most visible teeth when you smile. The remainder of your teeth are whitened before the procedure to get them as close to the color you want as possible.

Porcelain veneers will do more than just whiten your teeth. They can also completely change the shape, size, and character of your smile as well. This is what celebrities use when they want that Hollywood smile.

Hopefully, this was helpful to you. By the way, when you’ve got those cosplay costumes done. You need to send us a picture!
